A gym day pass is the only honest way to judge a gym. A tour shows you an empty room at whatever hour suits the person giving the tour. A pass shows you the room at the hour you’d actually train.
Apex Personal Fitness sells a one day access pass for $15 and a one week guest pass for $25, with no sign up fee on either, at two Niagara County locations. This covers what’s included, who each one suits, and what you’ll find when you get there.
What a Gym Day Pass Gets You
| Pass | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| One day access pass | $15, one off | Full access, both locations, no sign up fee |
| One week guest pass | $25, one off | Seven days of full access, both locations |
| Monthly membership | $45 per month | Both locations, 24/7, cancel anytime |
Full access means the whole floor, not a restricted zone. Cardio, machines, free weights, and the infrared sauna at the Niagara Falls location. Both passes cover both gyms.
The week pass is the better value by a distance. At $25 for seven days it’s ten dollars more than a single day and gives you three or four sessions, which is long enough to know whether you’d actually keep coming. A single day tells you what the room is like. A week tells you whether the habit fits your schedule.
Who Each Pass Suits
Visiting Niagara Falls. Hotel fitness rooms are three treadmills and a pair of dumbbells. If you’re here for a few days and want a real session, a day or week pass is the straightforward answer. Apex is at 2416 Military Rd, a short drive from the Falls and the casino district.
Deciding between gyms. Use the pass at your real hour. If you’d train at 5:30pm on a weekday, go then, not at 11am on a Saturday. Busy is the single variable most people get wrong when choosing a gym, and it’s the one a tour hides.
Back after a long break. A pass with no sign up fee and nothing to cancel is a low stakes way to find out whether you’re ready before committing to a month.
What You’ll Find When You Walk In
Apex is a private, member only gym with a capped membership, so it does not feel like a chain. If you’re using a pass partly to find out whether you’ll feel out of place, here’s Anthony on that.
Clearly you’ve never walked into Apex, because you’ll be greeted with a smile and a hello from everyone. Most people are so focused on what they’re doing and their own goals that they’re really not paying attention to you. It’s a place where all of us are trying to get better. There isn’t the hate one would think, that gets seen so much online.
Anthony Kukovica, owner and head coach at Apex Personal Fitness, coaching since 2013
Coaches are on the floor from 5am to 9pm. Outside those hours the gym is open and unstaffed, which is worth knowing if it’s your first visit and you’d rather somebody was around.
PASSES AND PRICING
Buy a Pass, or Call Ahead
Day and week passes are listed with the memberships. If you’re visiting and want to check hours or arrange entry before you drive over, call 716-248-0250 and somebody will sort it out.
What’s on the Floor
- Treadmills with individual screens, ellipticals, upright and recumbent bikes, stair climbers, rowers
- Leg press, leg curl, lat pulldown, chest press, shoulder press, multi station cable
- Dumbbell racks, benches, squat rack and power rack
- Infrared sauna with red light at Niagara Falls, two person capacity
There is no pool, no courts, no tanning and no group classes. If any of those are on your list, Apex isn’t the right fit and a pass would just confirm it. You can look at both gyms before you buy anything.
If You Want a Session With a Coach
A pass is self access. If what you actually want is somebody to run a session with you, the first consultation is free and one on one training starts at $35 for 30 minutes. A membership is not required to buy training, so a visitor can book a single session without joining anything.
Worth calling ahead for that one, since coaches are scheduled rather than on standby.
Common Questions
Does the gym day pass work at both locations?
Yes. Both passes cover Niagara Falls at 2416 Military Rd and Youngstown at 445 Main St. Only Niagara Falls has the sauna.
Can I use a pass at 2am?
The gym itself runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Entry outside staffed hours works through the app, so if you want a late or overnight session call ahead on 716-248-0250 and confirm how your pass gets set up before you turn up.
Does a pass roll into a membership?
They’re separate purchases. There’s no sign up fee on a membership, so nothing is lost by trying a pass first.
Is there a free trial?
The free thing on offer is a consultation with a coach, not gym access. Access starts at $15 for a day. That’s deliberate: a capped private gym stays that way by not running open door promotions.
TRY IT FIRST
See it at your hour, not ours.
$15 for a day, $25 for a week, no sign up fee, both Niagara County gyms. Come at the time you’d actually train and decide from there.
